Flower Power

One of the main issues I've come across recently is the ability to add a little flower power to the business writing mix. "Make it flowery" has been the subject of a few requests for content this month. I know what they mean, and why it is important.
The request isn't about writing content for the sake of it. It is about injecting a little passion, enthusiasm, and excitement into business communications. For the canny web developer, it is also about adding in keywords, associated keywords and content that can really help drive SEO performance.
I wrote earlier this year about the challenge of introducing creativity into business writing. It isn't easy. But adding colour and imagination into your business writing can be done, even by the most logical, cool headed writer. In fact, the more logical the better in some circumstances. Start with the obvious checklist - what are the features of your subject matter, but more importantly, what are the benefits? Think about what those benefits mean to your reader - what does your product or service enable them to do more or less of? Imagine what they will do with those extra resources... and start to paint a picture with words.
